Product Review: Benefit’s the POREfessional: Agent Zero Shine

Many of us like things when they’re shiny and new: cars, jewelry, electronics… but if there’s one thing I don’t want to be shiny, it would be my face! If you’ve read one of my earlier posts, you’ll know that I have recently started to struggle with my skin. It used to be fine and I never got breakouts, but now I have blemishes, and, even worse, my skin looks like a mechanic’s coveralls — oily! This, unfortunately, is not a good look for anyone! While in Sephora, during one of my endeavours in to find a product that would keep me from becoming a reflective surface by midday, I happened to stumble across the Benefit cosmetics display and saw a new product being featured: the POREfessional: agent zero shine. Having used many Benefit products beforehand, I was immediately drawn to learn more about it.

The packaging is different and convenient from most loose powders. It is super-easy to throw in your purse and take with you, and it stays sealed very well so there is no risk of spilling makeup inside of your bag! To work it, you simply twist off the bottom portion to reveal a built-in brush, and then twist of the cap, open the makeup compartment, and tap the powder into the cap. From here, you simply swirl the brush in the product — taking care to tap off any excess powder — and apply to your face in a circular motion! Any trace of shine disappears instantly, and you’re not left feeling cakey because the powder is so light and airy. Plus, I have no longer found the need to blot my face or reapply pressed powder during my day! It’s a complete weight off of my shoulders! Benefit also claims that this product helps minimize the look of pores, which I have definitely noticed! This little beauty ran me about $36 from Sephora, but I believe that it is definitely worth the somewhat steep price!

Whenever I wear this product, my skin looks better than it has in months, so I would highly recommend it to anyone who is facing the same kind of skin adversity that I am!
