A Cuticle Above the Rest

I know that I’ve already written a post about the importance of keeping your nails done and looking good. But, today, I would like to talk about another important part of keeping your nails looking up to par: cuticles. Bad looking cuticles can make even the most beautifully done nails look bad, so it is extremely important to remove them and keep the skin around your nail nice and hydrated!

To keep your nails looking their absolute best, I recommend the following: 🙂

  1. Apply a cuticle remover to the cuticles (one hand at a time) and leave it for about 30 seconds. I use Sally Hansen’s Maximum Strength Instant Cuticle Remover, which costs about $5.00 at the drug store. IMG_4452 copy Photo on 4-1-2014 at 3.45 PM
  2. After 30 seconds, use a cuticle pusher or a pair of cuticle nippers to remove the dissolved cuticles from your nails and the skin around them.Photo on 4-1-2014 at 3.45 PM #2
  3. After removing as much of the cuticle as you can, wash your hands to remove the remaining cuticle remover from your nail beds and nip off any excess cuticle that you may have missed before.
  4. Next, apply cuticle oil – I prefer to use rose oil – to the cuticle, the nail, and under the free edge of your nail. Finish by using some hand cream to make the oil on your fingers blend into your skin a bit more

Much better than before 🙂 Enjoy your beautiful nails!
