So, in my last post, we talked about the 10 Most Common Beauty Mis-Haps, and number one was not washing your brushes enough–which is something that’s incredibly important! However, another important part of using makeup brushes is using the correct brush for each of the different steps of your beauty routine. I would go through all of the brushes that are out there, but that would be a whole other blog in itself! So, today, I’m going to outline the 5 brushes that every girl should have in her makeup kit!
1. Eyebrow/Eyelash brush
This is super important! Everyone knows how seriously I take eyebrows, so of course this is going to be number one. Well-groomed eyebrows can make all the difference! The only way to achieve that flawless, well-groomed look is to have an eyebrow brush. Most of these types of brushes also come with an eyelash brush on the reverse side of it, which will help to prevent another common beauty mis-hap: clumpy eyelashes. Do yourself a favour an get this brush! You’ll thank me later!
2. Angled Contour brush
We all know the difference that highlighting an contouring can make! So make the quality of your efforts even better by getting an angled brush for your contouring endeavours!
3. Stiff, Angled Eyeliner brush
This little guy is a multi-purpose gem. You can use it with your gel eyeliner to create beautiful lines or even use it with eyeshadow to make a super-colourful eyeliner! I, personally, also use this brush to fill in my eyebrows to give them that bold, dramatic look!
4. Airbrush Powder brush
While any powder brush is good to have, the airbrush finish brushes are absolutely to-die-for. You can honestly see the difference between the airbrush brushes and normal brushes. Whether you’re using a loose pigment powder or a pressed powder, airbrush powder brushes work wonders, and give that soft, porcelain finish that we all desire. My advice, splurge on this kind of brush! It will pay for itself in the long run.
5. All-over Eyeshadow brush
Relatively flat and domed brushes are perfect for applying eyeshadow anywhere on your eyelid. When I’m travelling and am tight on space, a brush like this is the only brush I bring for eyeshadow and it works just as well as when I have my whole collection! Just remember to tap and wipe out the excess pigment between colours in order to avoid transfer.
Well, those are my top 5! What brushes can you not live without? Let me know in the comments!
